Spring Flower Walk in Harlemville

Saturday, May 6, 2017 - 08:30 to 10:30

Join Claudia and Conrad Vispo from the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program in welcoming spring during a leisurely walk along the base of Phudd Hill, behind Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School. This is another one of our favourite spring walks with an unusual diversity of spring flower species. Learn to recognize the common and not so common plants that thrive at the base of the hill and in the adjacent floodplain, see tham at different stages of their development, hear about their ecology and lore, observe their insect visitors.

Plan to stay after the walk for the opening of the May Festival with a dance around the may pole by students from the Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School.

All ages are welcome. The walk is free, but space is limited. Please register with Claudia Knab-Vispo (fep@hawthornevalleyfarm.org or 518-672-7994) to reserve your space and receive directions.
