Spring Flower Walk Nutten Hook

Friday, April 7, 2017 - 03:00 to 05:30

Join Claudia and Conrad Vispo from the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program in welcoming spring during a leisurely walk along the high shore of the Hudson River at Nutten Hook in Stuyvesant. We'll traverse a dry oak forest, a sugar maple forest, and an early succesional forest and compare and contrast the spring flowers growing in each of them. We'll learn to recognize them, hear about their ecology and lore, observe their insect visitors.

All ages are welcome. The walk is free, but space is limited. Please register with Claudia Knab-Vispo (fep@hawthornevalleyfarm.org or 518-672-7994) to reserve your space and receive directions.
