Winter Botany Workshop Session III

Saturday, February 26, 2022 - 13:00 to 15:00

This winter, we are repeating (perhaps with some additional tweaks) the "Woody Plants in Winter—A Self-guided Course", which we created last winter. We’ll return to Crellin Park and PS21 in Chatham and reflag the trees. You can then review the on-line materials (including three videos of Conrad introducing 30 "first tree friends") and the corresponding flagged trees/shrubs at Crellin Park and PS21 in Chatham, which can be visited at your leisure from January 15 - March 20. This year, we will mark all trees simultaneously, but we will repeat the flag color scheme. It will be up to you to decide whether you want to stagger your learning or gobble it down all at once.

In addition, we will offer an in-person, outdoor Winter Botany workshop in three sessions (corresponding to the three sets of flag colors):

  • Saturday, Jan. 29, 1-3pm (Crellin Park, Chatham)
  • Saturday, Feb. 12, 1-3pm (Crellin Park, Chatham)
  • Saturday, Feb. 26, 1-3pm (PS21, Chatham)

This workshop is free, but participant numbers are limited. Please register with fep@hawthornevalleyfarm.org to reserve your space. Preference will be given to participants planning to join us for all three sessions.
