Open House in winter
Once a month, we invite the community to visit us at the Creekhouse (1075 Harlemville Road, Ghent NY). Please join us on first Thursdays, 6-8pm, for a simple meal and informal conversation, including highlights from our Program’s activities during the past month. “Regulars” are encouraged to contribute a dish to share, but newcomers or occasional visitors are most welcome even if they didn’t get around preparing a dish…
These evenings are a great opportunity to share nature observations, bring specimens or photos for identification, and to discuss questions about natural history, land use history, and the interactions between people and the land, including agriculture, in Columbia County. They are also an opportunity to browse in the Reading Room, which houses an extensive collection of historical and current natural history, land use, and agricultural/gardening books.
